The Gift of Intuition
I haven't always been a big fan of intuition. Back in my 20's I thought it was too woo-woo. But over the years it has proven its self right over and over again. So now I trust it 100%. It may not always have the exact answer, but it always points me to a new doorway; the right 'next thing'- even though I haven't a clue what's on the other side. I trust it will be exactly what I've been looking for.

Fabric Enters In
It's been several months that I've been adding fabric to my figures. Definitely new ground creatively for me. Every time I get out the needle and thread I get a solid memory of being 10 years old and hand sewing doll clothes for my "Troll" - those small, very long-haired and relatively ugly dolls popular in the late 60's. Oh, how I loved doing that! And now that pure joy comes to me, pretty much unchanged, when I sew parts onto these new creatures. I love the return of this joy! I'm also a bit at odds with how it over rides my fear of being in this new territory. It's as if I'm watching myself from the outside, wondering where this journey will take me next.

"A Place Called Wild Abandon"
This piece is about the place in my creative process, usually early on, when every option is open, every emotion is fair game, before my inner critic rears its censoring head. All experiences, from my darkest up through the light is there. It's one of my most favorite places in the world, where I find myself most alive.

Stop Motion Video
Next month I will be the featured artist at our local Heron's Nest Gallery here on Vashon Island. I'm excited about it and wanted to do an announcement of sorts. Since I've been toying with the idea of stop animation for my small figures, I thought I would make the leap and give it a (playful) shot… Here goes!!
